BY CAR

From the NORTH/NEW YORK CITY


Take the New Jersey Turnpike south to Exit 9 (New Brunswick). After the toll booths, take the first right turn onto the ramp for Route 18 north. Soon after you enter Route 18, take the left side of the fork in the road, staying in the right lane. After the fork, immediately bear right to take the exit for U.S. Route 1 south/Trenton.

Drive south on Route 1 for about 18 miles to the west-bound exit for Alexander Road. Turn right onto Alexander Road toward Princeton and follow it until it dead-ends at Mercer Street. Take a left onto Mercer Street. Follow Mercer Street through a pedestrian traffic light, and then turn right onto Library Place. At the next intersection (with U.S. Rt. 206/Stockton Street), turn right. Before the next traffic light 16 Stockton Street will be on your right, a large yellow Victorian house. Turn right into the house’s driveway and park at the side of the house or behind it.

From the WEST 


Drive east on Interstate 78 into New Jersey. Exit onto southbound Interstate 287 (toward Somerville). Follow signs for Routes 202/206 south. Drive south on 202 for a short distance and then follow signs to 206 south, which will take you around a traffic circle. Go south on 206 for about 18 miles to the light at Nassau Street (Route 27) in Princeton. Turn left onto Nassau Street at the intersection, then immediately turn right onto Mercer Street (before the light at University Place). Follow Mercer Street past Alexander Road on the left, through a pedestrian traffic light, and then turn right onto Library Place. At the intersection with U.S. Rt. 206/Stockton Street, turn right. Before the next traffic light 16 Stockton Street will be on your right, a large yellow Victorian house. Turn right into the house’s driveway and park at the side of the house or behind it.

From the SOUTH


If you are coming from southern New Jersey, we recommend that you take Interstate 295 north (instead of the New Jersey Turnpike). Soon after the road turns into I-95 South, take Exit 8B to Princeton Pike North. Follow Princeton Pike through the light at Province Line Road, pass through the Princeton Battlefield State Park, and go through the light at Lovers Lane/Olden Lane. At this point you will be entering central Princeton. Library Place will come up on your left (you will see the Princeton Theological Seminary’s Library at the intersection); turn left onto Library Place. At the intersection with U.S. Rt. 206/Stockton Street, turn right. Before the next traffic light 16 Stockton Street will be on your right, a large yellow Victorian house. Turn right into the house’s driveway and park at the side of the house or behind it.

From the EAST


Take Interstate 195 west (toward Trenton) to the exit for Interstate 295 north. Drive seven miles and soon after the road turns into I-95 South, take Exit 8B to Princeton Pike North. Follow Princeton Pike through the light at Province Line Road, pass through the Princeton Battlefield State Park, and go through the light at Lovers Lane/Olden Lane. At this point you will be entering central Princeton. Library Place will come up on your left (you will see the Princeton Theological Seminary’s Library at the intersection); turn left onto Library Place. From the PHILADELPHIA AREA


Take Interstate 95 north into New Jersey and exit at Exit 8B to Princeton Pike North. Follow Princeton Pike through the light at Province Line Road, pass through the Princeton Battlefield State Park, and go through the light at Lovers Lane/Olden Lane. BY TRAIN

Amtrak and New Jersey Transit operate trains along the Northeast Corridor rail line that stop at Princeton Junction. Travelers can then transfer to a single-car train operated by New Jersey Transit, known locally as the “Dinky,” for the five-minute ride to Princeton Station. The station is located on University Place at the southern end of Princeton University’s campus, across from the McCarter Theatre Center. On debarking from the train, walk to University Place (the adjacent road), turn right and follow the road northward until you reach Nassau Street. Take a left onto Nassau Street, cross Mercer Street and continue straight along Stockton Street, passing the traffic light. 16 Stockton Street will be on your left, a large yellow Victorian house.
