James R. Stoner, Jr. is Professor of political science at Louisiana State University where he teaches political theory, English common law, and American constitutionalism. In 2002–03 he was a Visiting Fellow in the James Madison Program in American Ideals and Institutions at Princeton University, and he served from 2002 to 2006 on the National Council on the Humanities. He received his PhD from Harvard University.
