Natural Law and American Constitutionalism

Natural Law, Natural Rights, and American Constitutionalism is an online, searchable archive of the most important primary texts of the millennia-old tradition of natural law theory and its critics, particularly those texts that have most influenced the political and constitutional history of the United States. The site also contains original essays by scholarly experts in the different schools of thought represented by the texts; study guides, timelines, and other resources accompany the essays. The site is designed to explain to the average educated person what the different thinkers of the natural law tradition have said, and how their ideas relate to American history. Natural Law, Natural Rights, and American Constitutionalism is a We the People project of the National Endowment for the Humanities.
